A Woodworking project that’s sure to be an uplifting project!
Here’s an easy-to-make working crane that’s
destined to get plenty of hours of play time

by Norm Marshall

Norm Marshall (1932 -1982) created dozens of original and unique toys in his workshop after he retired from the Navy in 1978. He used toy-making as a way to relax and enjoy himself after spending 25 years as an aviator with over 5000 flight hours. His attitude about his hobby was that “making a toy should be a leisurely, inexpensive, four or five hour project. It should let you unwind.” We’ll present a number of Norm’s toy plans in upcoming issues of “HANDS-ON !”. That way, you, too, can enjoy Norm’s special contribution to this wonderful aspect of woodworking.
